This mixed-media special features animated shorts of bedtime stories with celebrity voices, lullabies by famous performers, and interviews with children talking about sleep, dreams, and the tradition of bedtime stories. The featured stories are "Goodnight Moon" about a young bunny's pre-bedtime rituals, "There's a Nightmare in My Closet" about a worried little boy who is convinced a monster lives in his closet, and "Tar Beach" the tale of 8-year-old Cassie, who loves to go to Tar Beach, the rooftop of her family's apartment.
