The long way home [large print] / Robin Pilcher.
Claire Barclay is more than a little shaken when she receives news that her beloved stepfather has had a stroke. She and her husband, Art, fly back to Scotland to care for him during the summer. Leo is no longer able to live on his own, but he s absolutely determined to stay in his beloved old house, which presents a problem. Art comes up with an idea that might make sense for them all. They ll purchase the property from Leo, turn the place into a conference center, and build Leo a cottage on the property. Problem solved. But the situation is more complicated than it seems. Jonas Fairweather has been Leo s caretaker and trusted confidante, and it appears that he has schemed to tear Leo s house down and develop the property, presumably for financial gain. But the Baclays are beginning to think that there s something far more sinister going on . . .
